About the Drawing
The 2026 UEFA Champions League Final brought together Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal in Budapest, with Europe's biggest club prize hanging in the balance. Finals often become tense, tactical occasions, and this one proved no exception.
Arsenal made the perfect start, scoring in the sixth minute and immediately changing the rhythm of the match. From that moment onwards, both teams were forced to respond, creating a contest that remained finely balanced throughout. Listening to both talkSPORT and Tiempo de Juego, it was fascinating to hear the same moments described through English and Spanish voices, each bringing its own perspective to the unfolding drama.
After extra time, the final was still undecided and the trophy would be settled by a penalty shoot-out. Those moments are unlike any other in football. Everything that has happened over two hours suddenly comes down to a handful of kicks. For an artist drawing live, the tension is extraordinary because, just like every supporter, I still have no idea how the story will end.
Whenever I look at this drawing, I remember the uncertainty more than the result itself. Drawing a match live means discovering its story as it unfolds, just like everyone else who is listening to it on the radio. When I work on a commission from the past, I already know the result, but the match still surprises me. The commentary, the rhythm of play and the small moments between the goals reveal a story that can never be understood from the scoreline alone.
