About the Drawing
The 145th FA Cup Final brought Chelsea and Manchester City together once again at Wembley Stadium, where one of English football's oldest competitions reached another memorable conclusion. Beyond the result itself, this final carried the feeling that one chapter was coming to an end.
For Manchester City, it marked the last appearance for several players who had been part of an extraordinary era. It was also Pep Guardiola's final match as the club's manager after years of remarkable success. Watching football, we often focus on trophies, but every great period eventually reaches its conclusion. This final felt as much like a farewell as a cup final.
Listening to the match, I found myself thinking about Wembley itself. There is something timeless about the stadium. It has hosted generations of players, managers and supporters, quietly witnessing football history unfold while each generation leaves its own mark before making way for the next.
Whenever I look at this drawing, I think less about a single afternoon than about the passing of time in football. New teams emerge, familiar faces move on, and great eras eventually become memories. That is part of what makes the game so compelling. Every ending also creates the space for a new beginning.
